    Backup and Restore Mysql Database using Mysqldump

    Below are mysqldump commands for backup and restore mysql database:

    WINDOWS:

    Backup:

    C:\mysql\bin> mysqldump -u username -p password database > dumbfilename.sql
    Restore:

    HTML Code:
    C:\mysql\bin>mysql -u username -p password database < dumpfilename.sql

    UNIX / LINUX


    Method 1:Follwed by user's database username and password

    Backup:
    HTML Code:
    mysqldump -u username -p password database > dumbfilename.sql
    Restore:
    HTML Code:
    mysql -u username -p password database < dumbfilename.sql
    Method 2 : Backup and restore with root access

    Backup:
    HTML Code:
    mysqldump databasename > dumpfilename.sql
    Restore:
    HTML Code:
    mysql newdatabasename < dumpfilename.sql
