  • How to add and delete the redirects in cPanel

    Steps to add redirect in cPanel:

    1. Log in to the cPanel account.

    2. Then go to Domains section and click on Redirects.

    3. Under the Add Redirect, select redirect type that you would like to use for your domain :

    • If you want to specify a permanent redirection, then select Permanent (301).

    • If you want to specify a temporary redirection, then select Temporary (302).

    4. From a drop-down menu, choose the domain name you would like to redirect

    5. If you want to redirect a single page or directory, you can use the text field and enter the name of the folder or file.

    6. In the text box for redirects to, type the destination web page

    NOTE: Here it is necessary to enter the protocol. For e.g. http:// https://

    6. In the "www. redirection" section choose if you want your domain to redirect with www. or not:

    Only redirect with www :This redirect will be work when only if the user has entered www. in URL.
    Redirect with or without www : The redirect does not depend on whether the user has entered www. in URL or not.
    Do Not Redirect www : This redirect will not work if the user has entered www. in URL.

    7. Check Wild Card Redirect if you would like all files in the current directory to be redirected to the same files names in the new directory.

    (Example: It will redirect: domain1.com/test.php to domain2.com/test.php instead of sending domain1.com/test.php to domain2.com.)

    8. Now click Add icon.

    Steps to remove the redirect :

    You can also remove the redirect when you no longer want to redirect a page to another web page.

    Perform the following steps to remove direct :

    1. Log in to cPanel.

    2. Go to Domains section and click on Redirects.

    3. Under the Current Redirects, go to the redirect that you want to remove, and then click on Remove.

    4. Now click on Remove Redirect to confirm your deletion.


    In this way, you can add or delete the redirect in cPanel.
