How to Install MariaDB on cPanel server ?

Please provide me step by step instructions for installating MariaDB on brand new cPanel server.

You can surely upgrade to Mariadb on brand new cPanel server. You can also upgrade to Mariadb on existing cPanel server, just make sure you have full MySQL backup before upgrade.


Here are steps to upgrade MySQL (5.5,5.6) to MariaDB 10.1 using WHM panel.


1) Logged into WHM panel:

2) Click on MariaDB Upgrade under Home >> Software >> MySQL/MariaDB Upgrade.

3) Then, Select MariaDB 10.1 recommended option and Click on Next.




4) Then, select all boxes showing in the screens and click on continue.



5) and then select Interactive Upgrade.



You will see this screen which shows MySQL is now upgrading to the selected version.



Here, you can see the upgrade has been finished successfully screen.



Now, you will need to recompile with the Ruby Gems, EasyApache and PHP.

6) Click on continue.

7) Now, you will see the Ruby Gems update screen. Click on Next.

8) Then, you will see EasyApache 4 does not require the rebuild or re-installation of Apache and PHP when you upgrade MySQL or MariaDB.



MySQL/MariaDB Upgrade Completed.
