  • Phishing Scam

There is a latest phishing scam making its way into the various email accounts and users now. The message says like "Your Account Was Hacked!" and starts with stating that he is a member of some group eg., "I'm a member of an international hacker group". It is basically a phishing scam conducted by self-proclaimed hackers attempting to blackmail you through a series of email messages.

In the message they try to frighten the targets by claiming they have access to their messages, social media accounts, messengers, etc. They also claims to have recorded video through their webcams, recorded their doings on porn sites, etc.

The email message basically claims to have know your password to your email address and demands that you fork over $700 or $800 and that there will be risk of having your messages and videos sent to all of your contacts on your devices.

Emails are somewhat easy to hack if a hacker does a social engineering, so it is likely that they might have known your password too, so just make sure to change the passwords to the safer one.

The email appear legitimate to many people and some of them might frightened too when they receive it. But, this same message has been sent around the internet to so many people and the words in it are all same, so it is pretty clear they have targetted as much as possible in an attempt that at least 1 or 2 also pays, their get the funds for their enjoyment. We say such type of mails coming to people who never have visited an adult website.

My advise will be to not pay any amount and do not reply to these scammers also. The best thing to do, at this moment, would be to change the email passwords and to be on a safer side, change all the passwords of all of your accounts, may be person or professional..

Keep your system clean from where you access your emails to avoid any unwanted spywares spy on you.
